LEAGUE RULES

LEAGUE DUES

  • All participants will pay $150 before the last week of the season.

  • Each team will be allotted 15 player transactions.  After the initial fifteen, the player will be charged $5 for each subsequent transaction.

  1. LEAGUE PAYOUTS

    • 1st place will receive 60% of the pot

    • 2nd place will receive 30% of the pot

    • 3rd place will receive 10% of the pot

    • Money from moves will be spent on any league expenses for that season.

      • If no expenses exist, the league will choose on a year by year basis how it is to be spent.

  2. KEEPERS

    • Every year, each team will be given three years worth of contracts to use for keeper players regardless of whether that team already has any players under contract.

      • Players on IR may not be kept unless they were on your roster when placed on IR or traded after.

    • That team will lose a draft pick according to what round their keeper choice was selected in the previous year’s draft if that player had not been dropped or traded.

      • If a team has more than one pick in a single round, the keeper will be assigned to their latest pick in that round.

      • Any player that was undrafted is an 8th round pick.

      • Any player that has been dropped or traded will be kept at the 8th round or earlier.

    • That player will remain a keeper until one of the following occurs:

      • Their contract has expired

      • They have been dropped, gone through waivers, and become a free agent again.

      • Before the draft, the team owner has chosen to drop that player from their keeper list.

    • Player contracts may not extended or renewed.  Once a player's contract is up, they will return to the draft pool regardless of whether they cleared waivers.

    • If a keeper player is traded or picked up off of waivers their contract remains in place.

    • All keeper player’s names must be provided to the commissioner no less than one week prior to the draft.

  3. DRAFTING

The draft order will be based on the following:

    • The top 4 teams will be put in reverse order of how they finished in the playoffs.

      • The First 2 teams eliminated from the champions bracket in week 14 will play the winners of the first round of the consolation bracket.

    • The bottom 4 teams as well as the first teams eliminated from the champions bracket will enter a consolation playoff.

      • Teams 7-10 will play during week 14.

        • Winners will go on to play the first two teams eliminated from the champions bracket in week 15.  The consolation championship game will take place in week 16.

        • The Sacko Bowl will be played over the course of weeks 15 and 16.  The combined scores for the two weeks will determine the winner.

      • The winner will receive the draft pick of their choosing, 2nd the second pick, 3rd the third pick, etc.

      • The last place team will receive the 6th overall pick as well as dubbed the Sacko for the year.

        • The Sacko will be required to wear an outfit chosen by the previous year champion for all draft day activities.

          • The former champion must cover all expenses associated with purchase or rental of a costume.

        • The Sacko will also be required to incorporate “Sacko” into their team name for the duration of the season.

  4. LEAGUE VOTES

    • The commissioner will not vote on any rule changes to the league so that there will always be an odd number of voters.

    • In the event that not everyone casts a vote and there is a tie, the commissioner will act as the tie breaker.

  5. MANAGER REPLACEMENT

If for any reason a team manager decides to quit the league, the replacement manager will be required to take over the vacated team.

    • This includes following through on any draft pick trades made by the previous manager.

  6. LEAGUE PENALTIES

    • Inactive Player

      • A player that is deemed inactive greater than 12 hours prior to the start of their game may not be used as a starting player on a team roster. The penalty for violation will be:

        • 1st offense within a season - $20 fine

        • 2nd offense within a season - $50 fine

        • 3rd offense within a season - expulsion from league

    • Injured Reserve or Bye Week

      • A player on IR or a bye week may not be used as a starting player on a team roster.  The penalty for violation will be:

        • 1st offense within a season - $100 fine

        • 2nd offense within a season - $100 fine

        • 3rd offense within a season - expulsion from league

    • Draft Day / End of Year Dinner

      • Absence from the Draft or EOY owner’s meeting without proper notification less than 7 days in advance, except in the event of force majeure, shall result in a $100 fine to be used towards the expenses of the following year’s draft.

  7. PLAYER TRADES

Trading will begin once keepers have been declared.

The trade deadline will be on the Saturday before week 10 games.

  8. PLAYOFFS

    • 6 teams will make the playoffs

    • The top team from each division receives a bye

    • In the result of multiple tie records, overall season points are used as a tiebreaker (this is used both to determine the playoff seeds and to determine which teams make the playoffs)

      • In the case of a tie in overall season points, the next tiebreaker is points scored in each team’s most recently completed match (and if somehow that was also a tie, you use the same method with the week prior and keep going backward until the tie is broken).

    • The 3 seed will face the 6 seed and the 4 seed will face the 5 seed in the first week of the playoffs. The second week will reseed, and the #1 seed will face the lowest seed that won in the first week of the playoffs and the #2 seed will face the highest seed that won. The winners of those games will face off for the championship.

    • The 7 through 10 seeds will face off in a consolation/sacko bracket. In the first week of the consolation bracket, the #7 seed will face the #10 seed and the #8 seed will face the #9 seed. In week two, the winners of these games will face the losers of the first round of the playoffs. This week will also reseed, with the highest seed winner in the consolation bracket facing the lower seed playoff loser, and the lower seed winner in the consolation bracket facing the highest seed playoff loser.

    • The winners of those matchups will face in the third week with the winner getting to choose what order they want to draft in. The loser will receive the #2 pick if the winner chooses the #1 pick. If the winner chooses a different seed the loser will draft #1 overall.

    • The losers of the first week of the consolation bracket will face off in a two-week Sacko Bowl.
